ok, lets get one thing straight here. I am not matching the colors of this piece exactly to the studs. I know i cant do it so im just kinda playing it a long. but i am having fun with it! hehe he looks funny with just his head colored.

I think it's a nice start! With watercolors sometimes less is more, you know. So, what you see as "sloppy" might just be a lack of detail or something, which isin't always necessary. I hope I'm making sense and may be of at least a little help. :)
